Due In June - Poem by Alex Poulos

I knew the waves were crashing,
The sand turned from pearls to heated glass shards,
And my feet bled across the plains for you
I walk the thin line on a narrow road, Camel backs on shoulder straps,
And I gave you the water from my canteen as I ached for thirst, but I did it for you
I made a few mistakes. They flunked me out of the society, and all I have left is regrets, But I did it for you.
The Palm trees aren't the same anymore where I'm sitting in the sun, and the light gets dimmer the more you twist my emotions.
